Today, January 28th, we officially kick off SHELTER – Small Sat HIS for Enhanced L-band Transmission and Reception, our first project funded by the European Space Agency - ESA.

SHELTER was selected under ESA’s HIGH-IMPEDANCE SURFACE FOR SMALL SATELLITE APPLICATION – EXPRO PLUS tender, part of the Express Procurement Plus framework designed to accelerate technology development through competitive and streamlined procurement.

The project focuses on developing innovative high-impedance surface (HIS) technologies for small satellites, aiming to improve communication performance in the L-band, a key frequency range for reliable satellite links. The proposal was developed in collaboration with Tyvak International, and project activities are now officially starting.
