EMC – Electromagnetic Compatibility ensures that different electronic systems can operate correctly together without generating mutual interference or malfunctions.
This aspect is particularly critical when radars, radio communications, sensors, navigation equipment, control systems, and data networks operate simultaneously within the same electromagnetic environment. Free Space supports shipyards through EMC studies and RADHAZ analyses performed onboard ships.
The activity includes electromagnetic simulations and measurement campaigns aimed at verifying equipment compatibility and ensuring the operational safety of the platform.
In particular, Free Space performs the following analyses:
HERE (Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Equipment);
HERO (Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance);
HERP (Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Personnel).
The objective is to identify and mitigate electromagnetic risks from the earliest design stages, reducing operational issues, interference, and integration costs.
